Introduction: Now past 55, I take a clear-eyed look back at my journey, between deep joys and silent wounds. This personal story explores the themes of resilience, hypersensitivity, being atypical and the bond with another person. An open letter to life, to love, and to the one who will see beyond appearances. Because being different can be a gift, and because the hope of “one day, a woman…” remains intact.
“Having spent sleepless nights dreaming
of what fairy tales let you imagine”
Florent Pagny, Et un jour une femme
A little over 55 years old, a quick look back…
I’d imagined a very different family and romantic life…
Admittedly, I’ve had some very good times… and others that were decidedly less so…
I have no regrets. I’m particularly proud of my children. However, I’m missing the essential thing: that bond.
I believed, and still believe deeply, in the values of being a couple, family, communication, sharing, support, exchange and closeness…
I ask forgiveness of anyone I may have hurt…
I’ve stumbled and fallen many times… I’ve learnt and will continue to learn… A journey of resilience and self-reflection… What a long way I’ve come already… Time passes… Life is short…
My hypersensitivity and my atypical nature have sometimes thrown people off. Today, I see them as a treasure: a unique way of feeling, understanding and loving. A difference that is often misunderstood, but which can be a precious gift for those who know how to recognise it.
On this journey, there are so many things I’d still like to achieve, experience and, above all… share, with the person who will love me for who I am, beyond appearances. So much to offer…
So I still like to believe in it…
One day, a Woman…
A gentle conclusion: This text is a trace, an offering, a hope. If you recognise yourself in these words, perhaps our paths will cross somewhere. And that is already a great deal. 🌿💖🙏
